As players demand more and the NCAA mandates more for them, some Division I schools are cutting sports.

One University of Alabama campus even cut football, the first D1 school to do so in two decades.

As the O'Bannon verdict promises royalties to former college players and the NLRB's Northwestern U. decision may enable unionization, D1 schools at the low end of the top tier are reevaluating their investment in college sports.  From cross country to swimming, they are cutting programs to cut costs.
