What the AAUP doesn't like to hear from Dickeson is that (1) faculty salaries are driving up the cost of delivering instruction, and (2) tenure is not so much a free-speech protection as it is a job-security mechanism.  These are the chief tenets of his creed and he's been POing the AAUP for 35 years by relentlessly preaching them.
