Ohio University does not get off for free.

The school will pay the student-plaintiff's attorney fees plus $6000 in damages to settle a free-speech involving his t-shirt.  The shirt said, "We get you off for free." The school objected that it was a dirty saying.  The student retorted that his group helps student's with campus judicial cases and that the motto has been in long use.

Is "dirty" in the eye of the beholder?  And is this just one more incident in the new Puritanical craze that is sweeping American higher education?
