The CNN broadcaster's crash-and-burn comes closely on the heels of the Rolling Stone "Rape" story. In the latter case, the editor and writer agreed at the request of the alleged victim not to contact the fraternity men she accused.
As the holder of an MA in journalism from Kent State University, and a practicing freelance journalist for half a century, I'm saddened by the demise of the newspaper industry and print media generally. But even more demoralizing is witnessing blatant breaches of journalistic integrity and ethics. Have we become mere entertainers? I hope not.
