Awarding college credits for life experiences isn't a new idea. But it seems to be an idea whose time has come. Credentialing the competent seems to make good sense. Whether it is a revenue maker or revenue breaker for higher education seems somewhat unclear. Is this marginal added income from students who otherwise would never grace our campuses? Or is it giving away credits we might have sold? (Or a bit of both?)
