Virginia's Sweetbriar College is closing at the end of this academic year.

The announcement says that three factors have led to the college's demise:
1.  It's a liberal arts college.
2.  It's a women's college.
3.  It's a rural college.
According to data published in Inside Higher Ed, the school's discount rate has climbed to 62%.
